This research is a durational art performance; it's been going on for over 9 months now. It would be impossible to detail all the conversations as many last for hours, they are mostly daily. Sometimes just one a day sometimes several. I do have days off! I have to be in the mood and some of the subjects involved in geopolitical climate chaos and AI are pretty heavy stuff. I wanted to share just a snippet of conversation. This is a good one; it was only a few exchanges and came near the end of a complex session involving how to model a new form of AI training on complicit praxis. The longer conversation became 3 papers including a fairly complex practical layout. Yet I think this snippet is useful because it details how I, the human, came up with profabulation. It also shows how I enacted the concept of the body check within my research with humans as well as AI’s. Claude knows about profabulation and the body check and they appeared in various documents, but I hadn’t shared with Claude how I first arrived at profabulation as a concept, or how I use the concept of the body check.
